Couldn't believe it when Wilma called me at work this morning and I still can't take it in. My thoughts are with Steve's family at the moment and his numerous friends, Spanish and British alike. Wilma, her girls, Susi & Daniella, Jackie, Steve, Gas, Stan, Hammy, Linda, Para, Frank, Katy, Grace and all the Buzzby's regulars, you must all be devastated and you are in my & Bobby's thoughts. A great loss and the place just won't seem the same without you Steve.

I'm 2 years late on this thread as i only discovered the Old stuff site a couple of days ago. I was really saddened to read of Steve's tragic death. I hadn't seen him or been in lloret since 1996.
Having been on holiday in lloret in 81, 82, 83, 84, and 88 ihad known Steve from the Texas and also Scotch corner. Ireturned to lloret in 96 with my wife and kids, went to the Texas to be told Steve and Rish were now in Fanals. We walked into Buzzby's, Steve was behind the bar, looked at me, Picked up a handfull of drinking straws from a glass, threw them at me and shouted..."Your late.... about 10 years ****in late"!!!
That he remembered who i was after so many years speaks volumes for the guy. Needless to say, we spent the best part of a fortnight in Buzzby's.
I'm just so sorry i haven't returned since.
It's never too late to say RIP Steve. You played a massive part in some of the best years of my life.

@ Nico, I knew Mark back in the early 90's. Think I've got a photo of him and floyd (his dog) somewhere. When I'd come home for winter he'd give me his shopping list of gravy and dried peas, for proper mushy peas, to fetch back with me LOL. Another character taken away from us, but he'll never be forgotten by the Lloret family xx

Sad news indeed ,my cousin sharky was good friends with him mark aka sharky died of cancer a few years back does anybody remember him ? I knew mark, used to chat to him when i worked next door to buzzbys, went everywhere with floyd!. Great bloke! I always remember during the fireworks, (either san fermin or san juan) he was out with floyd as usual when one of the spanish blokes from the duke of wellington threw a banger in the road. It exploded near floyd who went berserk. Mark went over and stuck one on the guy! He used to knock about with a bloke with long dark hair, i think his name was alan or andy, did the canoe safaris on the Ebro delta. He told me a good story of when he used to DJ at one of the big clubs in Ibiza (amnesia i think). This was during the late 80s. Heclimbed one of the big palm trees outside the club and fell out. Broke loads of bones. I have such good memories of working in Lloret, i'm always sad to hear when anyone passes away.
